vui app terms of use

These terms cover your use of the vui app for iPhone. Please read them. By tapping to accept in the app, or by using it, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app. For fluxions.ai and our APIs, see the platform terms.

1. Who we are

vui is made by FLUXIONS LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15887383, registered office 89 Portland Road, Hove, BN3 5DP) (“Fluxions”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected].

2. These terms and Apple’s

You get vui from the App Store, so Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies. These terms apply in addition to it. If the two conflict, Apple’s agreement wins where it has to.

These terms are between you and Fluxions only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for vui or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Contact us, not Apple, about the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

3. Who can use vui

You must be at least 16 years old to use vui.

4. Your licence to use the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use vui on Apple devices you own or control, for your own purposes, under these terms and Apple’s agreement. We (and our licensors) keep all rights in the app, our voices, and our models. The models vui downloads are licensed by their makers. See section 9.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use vui to:

  • do anything unlawful, or to harass, threaten, defame, or harm anyone;
  • impersonate a real person with a vui voice, or deceive anyone about who is speaking;
  • pass off generated speech as a real person’s recording, or as speech they actually gave;
  • read, import, or share content you don’t have the right to use;
  • extract, copy, or reverse-engineer the app or its models, except as their licences or the law allow.

6. AI-generated output

  • vui’s replies and speech are produced by AI models running on your phone. They can be wrong, out of date, incomplete, or offensive, and they don’t represent the views of Fluxions.
  • Nothing vui says is professional advice. Don’t rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions. Ask a qualified person.
  • You are responsible for what you rely on, and for what you share or publish.
  • To report a bad reply, send a screenshot to [email protected], or use Settings → Feedback in the app.

7. Your content

The documents, notes, memories, and conversations you create in vui are yours. They are stored on your device, and we don’t receive them (see the privacy policy for the exceptions you choose, such as web search and Remote API). You are responsible for having the rights to anything you import, paste, or share into vui.

8. Third-party services you choose to use

  • Web search results come from DuckDuckGo and Wikipedia. Pages vui opens are those websites’ content, under their own terms. We don’t control or endorse them.
  • If you connect vui to a Remote API server, that server and its provider’s terms and privacy policy govern what you send to it. We are not responsible for it.
  • Signing in with Apple or Google is also covered by their terms.

9. Model licences

The AI models vui runs are made by other organisations and licensed to you under their own terms, which pass through to you. You agree to follow them, including the LFM Open License (Liquid AI’s models) and Google’s Gemma prohibited-use policy. The full list of models and open-source components, with their licences, is in the app under Settings → About.

10. Accounts

You can use vui without an account. If you sign in, keep your sign-in secure. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → your account → Delete account.

11. Privacy

How vui handles your data is explained in the vui app privacy policy.

12. Availability and changes

  • vui is free. We may change, add, or remove features, voices, and models, and the files the app downloads may change or stop being available.
  • We may update these terms. The version and date at the top show which terms apply. If we make a material change, the app will show you the new terms and ask you to accept them before you carry on using it.

13. Our responsibility to you

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms don’t affect. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit or exclude.

Subject to that, vui is provided free of charge and “as is”. We work to keep it reliable, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that AI output will be accurate.

Subject to the first paragraph, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, for business losses (vui is for personal use), or for losses caused by your breach of these terms, by third-party services you choose to use, or by relying on AI output.

14. Ending these terms

You can stop using vui at any time by deleting the app and, if you have one, your account. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we stop offering the app. Sections 6, 9, 13, and 15 continue after these terms end.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and can bring proceedings in your local courts.

16. Contact
