The voice is about 700 MB, downloaded once when you first open Read. Word highlighting adds a 190 MB model. The chat model depends on your iPhone: about 3 GB on iPhone 15 Pro and newer, and 0.7–1.8 GB on older phones. Downloads use Wi-Fi unless you allow mobile data in Settings.
vui needs iOS 26. Read works on every iPhone that runs it. Chat with spoken replies runs best on iPhone 15 Pro and newer, which have 8 GB of memory. Older iPhones use smaller chat models and load the voice and the chat model one at a time, so replies take longer to start.
Yes, once the models are downloaded. Reading, speech, and chat all run on your phone. Web search, opening links, the voice library, and sending feedback need an internet connection.
Swipe a document left in your library to delete it. Memories and notes have their own pages in Settings. To delete your account, go to Settings → your account → Delete account. Uninstalling vui removes everything stored on your phone. See the privacy policy for what, if anything, leaves your phone.
Replies come from a model running on your phone and can be wrong. Send us a screenshot at [email protected], or use Settings → Feedback in the app (when signed in). We read every report.
